Research and Analysis on Microstructure and Properties of Wear-resistant Layer of Laser Cladding High-end Pick

    • The excellent structure and properties of the wear-resistant layer directly affect the service life of the pick cutters used in the field of engineering rotary excavation and mineral mining. In order to develop high-end wear-resistant pick,CO2 surface welding high-chromium alloy and laser cladding Ti C steel-bonded cemented carbide were used to coat about 2mm thick wear-resistant layer on the surface of pick base(42CrMo steel). The effects of different cladding processes on the microstructure and hardness of the wear-resistant layer were compared and analyzed. The results show that there are obvious macroscopic cracks and obvious fusion lines in the surface welding wear-resisting layer, and the wear-resisting layer structure forms cellular crystal and dendritic crystal in a certain area. However, there is no obvious fusion line in the laser cladding wear-resistant layer, and there is a transition zone. In the transition zone, Ti C has good wettability with the base material, resulting in good metallurgical bonding. The average microhardness of the laser cladding wear-resistant layer is 1384.4 HV,and the hardness gradient of the transition zone changes significantly.
