Study on Tensile Behavior of SiCf/Ti65 Composites

    • SiCf/Ti65 composite was prepared by magnetron sputtering precursor wire method combined with thermal isostatic pressure process, the tensile behavior of SiCf/Ti65 composite chamber at room temperature and high temperature was studied, and the tensile fracture mechanism of the composite was reveled. The results show that the room temperature and high temperature tensile strengths of the composite are 29% and 164% higher than those of Ti65 alloy, respectively. The enhancement effect of the composite material is verified. The room temperature tensile fracture mechanism of the composite is reaction layer fracture, fiber/matrix interface debond, matrix brittle fracture, fiber fracture and sheath toughness fracture; the high temperature fracture mechanism is reaction layer fracture, fiber/matrix interface debond, fiber fracture, W/SiC interface deadhesion, matrix and sheath toughness fracture.
