Simulation and Experimental Study on Forging Process of 9S74 High Strength Aluminum Alloy

    • In order to study the hot deformation behavior and forging properties of 9S74 high-strength aluminum alloy, isothermal hot compression tests were carried out to obtain the true stress-true strain curves under different deformation conditions, and the data were imported into the Deform-3D material library. Taking the automobile rockshaft as the research object, the forging process parameters were formulated, and then the forging process of 9S74 high-strength aluminum alloy rockshaft was numerically simulated by using Deform-3D finite element simulation software. According to the simulation results, the material flow law, stress-strain distribution, load stroke curve, die stress distribution and other parameter information at different stages were analyzed. Finally, according to the process parameters obtained from the numerical simulation and the process tests, the mechanical properties of the 9S74 aluminum alloy rocker shaft forgings were analyzed. The rockshaft forgings obtained from the test are filled, which is basically consistent with the simulation results. The forging surface has no forging defects such as cracks and folds, and the mechanical properties are good. The results show that the forging process of 9S74 high-strength aluminum alloy proposed in the paper is feasible, which provides guidance for the aluminum alloy forging production.
