Numerical Simulation on Thermal Residual Stress of SiCf/Ti60 Composite

    • The thermal residual stress of SiCf/Ti60 composite was simulated by using the finite element software Abaqus. The effects of coating type, coating thickness and SiC fiber volume fraction on thermal residual stress of composites were studied, and the experimental verification was carried out. The results show that the coating has great influence on the radial thermal residual stress of SiC fiber and the hoop thermal residual stress of the coating, and the Gd coating has the best adaptability. The coating thickness has little effect on the thermal residual stress of the composite. Increasing the coating thickness can reduce the stress gradient in the composite. The volume fraction of SiC fiber has a great influence on the radial thermal residual stress of the composite. Increasing the volume fraction of SiC fiber can reduce the hoop thermal residual stress gradient, but it increases the hoop thermal residual tensile stress. After practical verification, the results agree well with the simulation results.
