Abstract
Aluminum matrix composites for goal door were prepared by adding Na3AlF6 and Ti powders into ZL101 aluminum alloy melt. The effects of electromagnetic stirring on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of aluminum matrix composites were studied. The results show that the morphology of α-Al phase is nearly spherical, the grain size is about 38.1 μm, and the shape coefficient is 0.81. Compared with the ZL101 aluminum alloy, the grain size decreases by 25.9% and the shape coefficient increases by 1.9 times, respectively. The tensile strength and elongation of the composite are 287.8 MPa and 3.14% respectively, which are increased by 28.2% and decreased by 29.2% than that of the matrix. The corrosion rate increases with the increase of immersion time in 1 mol/L HCl solution. After immersion for 24 h, the corrosion rate of TiAl3 particle reinforced aluminum matrix composite after electromagnetic stirring is the smallest, which is 0.082 g·m-2·h-1, and decreases by 52.6% than that of aluminum alloy matrix. The electrochemical test results show that the corrosion potential of aluminum matrix composites increases from -698 mV to -589 mV, and the corrosion current density decreases from 64 μA/cm~2 to 25 μA/cm~2. The corrosion resistance of TiAl3 particle reinforced aluminum matrix composite is greatly improved.
