Microstructure and Properties AlCoCrCuFexNi High-entropy Alloy Coating Prepared by Plasma Cladding on Q235 Steel

    • AlCoCrCuFexNi high-entropy alloy(HEA) coating was prepared on Q235 steel substrate by plasma cladding. The microstructure of the HEA coating were investigated by SEM, EDS and XRD. The microhardness distribution and wear resistance of the coating were tested. The results show that the HEA coating with metallurgically bonded to the substrate can be prepared on substrate of Q235 steel using Al, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe and Ni, and whose thickness is about 0.5 mm and without crack and gas pore. The microstructure of the AlCoCrCuFexNi HEA coating is mainly composed of FCC dendritic and BCC interdendritic structure, forming a great deal of nano-precipitate and ordered BCC. The microhardness of the coating reaches 350-680 HV0.2, and the wear loss of the substrate is about 3.4 times than that of the coating.
