Research Progress on Mechanical Properties of Laser Welded Joints of Steel and Aluminum Dissimilar Metals

    • Laser welding of steel and aluminum dissimilar metals is of great significance to the realization of automotive lightweight technology. The weldability and difficulties of steel and aluminum dissimilar metals were analyzed. Reducing the thickness of intermetallic compounds is the key to improve the mechanical properties of welded joints. The research progress of optimizing laser welding technology and adding alloying elements to improve the mechanical properties of welded joints was reviewed.
