Effects of Hot Extrusion Temperature on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Mg-1Zn-1Gd Alloy

    • Hot extrusion tests of Mg-1Zn-1Gd alloy were carried out at different temperatures. According to the experimental results and analysis, the effects of different extrusion temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-1Zn-1Gd alloy were discussed. The results show that the recrystallization during extrusion is affected by strain rate of different position, and the grain size after extrusion is small. As the extrusion temperature increases, the second phase particles gradually decrease, and the grain size after extrusion decreases first and then increases, the yield strength and tensile strength of the alloy increase first and then decrease. When the temperature is 450 ℃, the mechanical properties of the alloy reach a peak.
