Influence of Graphene Content on Microstructure and Wear Resistance of Al-20Si Composite

    • The method of powder metallurgy was adopted, and the different content of the graphene and the Al-20Si aluminum silicon powder were fired and molded. The microstructure and wear-resistance of the composite were tested by means of metallography, scanning electron microscope and friction-wear tester. The results show that compared with the unadded graphene, the addition of graphene refines the silicon grain, and the grain distribution in the matrix is more uniform. At the same time, the addition of graphene improves the hardness of the material, reduces the friction coefficient of the material, and the wear mark becomes shallow. When the graphene content is 0.5wt%, the average grain size of silicon is 1.5μm, the average friction coefficient of the composite is 0.28, and the wear mass loss is 15.2 mg. At this time, the wear-resisting property of the composite is optimal.
