Abstract:
The microstructure and mechanical properties of 2024 Al alloy subjected to a thermomechanical treatment consisting of solution treatment at 500 ℃ for 1 h, cold-rolling with 0%-75% and artificial aging at 150 ℃ were investigated by tensile test, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results show that with the increase of the rolling reduction, the tensile strength and yield strength of the sample increase gradually, but the elongation decreases continuously, and the time for strength to reach the peak is gradually shortened, and the effect of peak-aging is weakened. Artificial aging can effectively improve the elongation of the sample and improve its tensile strength and yield strength. Cold-rolling also brings a large number of dislocations, accelerates the speed of dislocation recovery, and promotes the precipitation of GPB and S’ phases.
