Abstract:
The influence of single-pass deformation on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of pure magnesium was studied by metallographic observation, static tension, electrochemical polarization and corrosion immersion. The results show that with the increase of the single-pass rolling deformation, the grain size of pure magnesium decreases gradually and the grain boundary increases, which leads to the increase of strength and corrosion resistance. When the single-pass rolling deformation is 65%, the average grain size of pure magnesium decreases from 65.94 μm to 12.58 μm,the self-corrosion potential positively shift 0.0215 V, the self-corrosion current density is reduced by about 32.3% compared with that of the undeformed sample. The corrosion rate in SBF simulated body fluid is 0.967 mm/a, which reduces 14.3%,indicating that the corrosion resistance of pure magnesium can be effectively improved by single pass large strain rolling.
